Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are ready for all the great things ahead in 2017.
With a new year comes new trends and we’re so excited to dive into them in this week’s blog post….
Pops of Color
In 2017 we expect to see classic invitations with unexpected pops of color. This can be achieved by adding a purple edge paint to Smock’s “Avella” suite or a vibrant envelope liner as shown in “Ellory.”
We love that we continue to see garlands and other greenery used as table runners and centerpieces. Organic, “fresh-picked” style bouquets are taking place of traditional blooms.
This invitation by B.T.Elements uses kraft paper and hints of greenery, perfect for an outdoor affair.
Golds, Grays and Taupes
Timeless neutrals are also a hit this season. Gold has been on point for as long as we can remember but we love the idea of adding a fresh twist with grays and taupes. This lovely B.T.Elements invitation features blue-gray paper with gold foil accents — and a floral wreath for good measure 🙂
Mix and Match
We love pairing classic invitations with mixed and matched patterns. This traditional letterpress invitation from Smock is a showstopper with its foil, deco back pattern and striped envelope liner.
We’re not surprised at all to see that hand calligraphy and calligraphy style fonts continue to rise in popularity. The subtle details found in handwritten script always add a personal touch to an invitation.
We love working with Bella Figura and their curated calligraphy styles to add a unique flair to invitations such as “Viviette” and “Chatsworth.”
We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this season. Congratulations 2017 brides and grooms — it’s officially your wedding year!
Happy planning 🙂
