Real Weddings – Best of 2017

Fat Cat Paperie Inspiration, Real Weddings

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We’re so excited about the start of 2018, but before we get too carried away, I’d like to flash back to 2017 for just a moment.

Last year was full of fun clients and creative projects making it so hard to narrow this down to just a few favorites. That being said, let’s start off with this whimsical upstate wedding.

Rustic Upstate Wedding

When I first met with Danielle and her mom, we spoke about her love for letterpress, whimsical fonts and luxurious paper — a girl after my own heart. Her fall wedding took place at Red Maple Vineyard. It was filled with earthy tones,  warm lighting and rustic details everywhere.

Thanks so much to Brianna Wilbur Photography for capturing the day so beautifully.

Watercolor Save the Date

Tara and I met with Alex last spring — only about five months shy of her Brooklyn wedding at the Wythe Hotel. We immediately fell in love with her vision and her admiration for soft watercolor details. Together, we found the perfect, muted watercolor artwork to embellish her save the dates. Before we knew it, everything was off to the printer and in her guests’ mailboxes.

Make sure to visit Carats & Cake for more of this GORGEOUS wedding, you won’t regret it!

Dreamy North Fork Wedding

I can’t stop staring at this dreamy photo… or their gorgeous flowers. Mariah and Kevin’s beautiful wedding took place at St. Patrick’s Church in Southold, New York followed by a celebration on the water at Peconic Bay Yacht Club. This darling wedding was photographed by the lovely and talented Ayenia Nour.

Classically Nautical

Remember Danielle from earlier? So a couple months after our first meeting, she brought her best friend Lauren in to look at save the dates and invitations. Lauren explained her and her fiance’s love for the water and all things nautical. We browsed through various letterpress designs inspired by the ocean, finally deciding on a classic navy, letterpress invitation. We weren’t finished yet though — Lauren wanted to include a couple more special details so we added a custom nautical map envelope liner (with little hearts to highlight their hometowns and wedding location) and wrapped it all together with twine.

These lovely, thoughtful photographs are from White Pear Photography Studio. Click here to see more images of their beautiful day at Peconic Bay Yacht Club.

Floral Wedding Invitation, Gold Foil Details, Mint Letterpress, Flower Guest Book

Mint and Gold Garden Wedding

Everyone in the office fell in love with sweet bride, Sarah, and her stunning floral wedding invitations. This mint and gold beauty was so perfect for her elegant garden wedding at Oheka Castle. We were so excited when she wanted to bring the florals back for her guest book. What a wonderful way to embellish all the lovely notes from her friends and family.

Formal Black and Gold Wedding Invitation, Foil text on black paper, gold gilded edge

Oh So Elegant Gold Foil

Alyson’s wedding vision was classic, formal and elegant. She’s a girl who knows what she likes, so when Tara showed her this gold foil invitation, she knew immediately it was “the one.” After that, everything else fell into place. Even her seating cards featured gold hand calligraphy and gilded edges.

Hand Calligraphy & Nautical Knots

Okay so this blog post is starting to look like “The Best of Peconic Bay Yacht Club,” but what can we say, these couples have good taste.

I seriously can’t say enough good things about Sarahrose and Zyad. They’re one of those couples that I could have sat in the studio and chatted with for hours. We enjoyed designing everything from their letterpress invitations to their nautical menus, but for today’s post I wanted to focus on these beauties. We teamed up with Swell Anchor Studio to create these custom nautical map, hand calligraphy escort cards. As if that wasn’t pretty enough, they went one step further and tucked them into little nautical knots from Mystic Knotwork — what a fun display!

Fat Cat couples, send us your photos! We love showing them off on our blog and social media.

We can’t wait to see all the fun 2018 has to offer!

xoxo,
